The significant increase in the live player count coincided with the introduction of Season 1. Not only did the game surpass over 550,000 live players on Steam, but an all-time high Twitch viewership of over 400,000 simultaneously.

Additionally, the game became the #1 best seller on Steam Charts on the same day, likely due to the Season 1 Battle Pass which is priced at $9.99. The Battle Pass offers various exclusive rewards, including ten hero skins. Considering the success, the game is likely to grow further on all platforms.

This season, two new heroes from the Fantastic Four have been introduced: Mister Fantastic and Invisible Women, while the other two (The Human Torch and The Thing) will be added mid-season. Moreover, three new maps are added: Sanctum Sanctorum, Midtown, and, Central Park. Season 1 Eternal Night is expected to end on April 11, 2025.

The massive success of Marvel Rivals has attracted numerous streams and players from games like Call of Duty, Overwatch 2, and Deadlock. Popular streamers like Nadeshot and Swagg stopped playing Black Ops 6 recently, while Deadlock hit an all-time low player count post-release of Rivals, both of which are likely due to the massive success of NetEase Game's hero shooter.
