Thaddeus Sasser opens up about Marvel Rivals mobile port plans in an interview
Fans hoping for a Nintendo Switch or mobile port would probably be disappointed, as the game director of NetEase Games, Thaddeus Sasser, confirmed at Gamescom that they currently have "no discussions" about bringing the game on handheld devices.
The reason behind this is the usage of Unreal Engine 5, demanding visuals, and destructible environments. He mentioned that even the Xbox Series S was struggling due to the title's high-performance demands. Interestingly, while Thaddeus specified that the Nintendo Switch port is "definitely not coming, " he did not give a similar response for a mobile version.
Considering the information we have so far, it is safe to say that Marvel Rivals might never be released for Nintendo Switch. A mobile phone version might still be possible, although not anytime soon.
However, with the game getting more and more popular, the developers might consider making it more performance-friendly for low-end desktops and also release it for PS4 and Xbox One users in the future. Do note that these are pure speculations, and viewers are advised herein to take them with a grain of salt.
