MLBB M6 World Championship Knockout Day 5: Results and highlights

The fifth day of the MLBB M6 World Championship Knockout was held on December 14, 2024. Team Liquid and Fnatic ONIC are the only two teams left in the tournament and will face each other in the Grand Finals for the trophy on Sunday. This sixth edition of the Mobile Legends Bang Bang Championship is being played at the Axiata Arena, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

A total of eight teams from the Swiss Stage earned spots in the Knockouts, which is being hosted in Double Elimination Bracket fashion. Six teams have been eliminated from this race during the initial five days of the Knockout Stage. The sixth and final day of this stage is scheduled for December 15, 2024.

Selangor Red Giants vs Team Spirit

Selangor Red Giants started the fifth day with a bang, as the Malaysian club played exceptionally well against Team Spirit in the Lower Bracket Semifinals. The team registered a brilliant win against their opponent by a scoreline of 3-0. Their key athlete, Sekys, was impressive in the first round of the match. Their star players, Innocent and Yums, were the MVPs in the second and third rounds, respectively.

On the other hand, Team Spirit lost their momentum completely in this crucial match and faced elimination from the MLBB M6 Championship. The Russian firm had a poor start to the Knockout, as they lost their initial match against Team Liquid. The club then fell to the Lower Bracket and won their next matches against Team Vamos and Falcon Esports.

Team Liquid vs Selangor Red Giants

After winning their first match of the day, Selangor Red Giants made it to the Lower Bracket Final and fought against Team Liquid. Unfortunately, the Malaysian squad did not keep up their rhythm and lost the battle. As a result, they were knocked out of this tournament.

Team Liquid from Indonesia showed phenomenal performance in this vital encounter and pulled off an amazing 3-0 victory. The renowned organization achieved a seat in the Grand Finals.

Selangor Red Giants ended their world championship campaign in the third position. The organization won the MSC 2024 in July this year, but, unfortunately, failed to win their second international title.
