The new Monster Hunter Wilds gameplay trailer showcases the protagonist helping a fellow hunter face a mob of sand-swerving monsters in a desert biome. This is followed by the heroine stepping in to thwart a monster invasion of a village, armed with sharp weapons from blades to guns.
The cutscenes also hint at the in-house engine-driven cinematics being a focus this time around - a far cry from a series that has been all about the gameplay in the past. It also boasts the best graphics yet for a series entry, on par with, or even better than, the publishers' past visual masterclasses, such as Devil May Cry 5.
Capcom has also confirmed at Summer Game Fest 2024 that crossplay will be introduced in Monster Hunter Wilds. This will let players team up with their friends, regardless of whether they are on PC or consoles. In other words, PlayStation users can play with Steam players when the game drops next year.
Packed with quality-of-life features, including monster riding from Monster Hunter Rise, this will be the biggest MH game yet on all fronts, including a seamless open world. However, players will need to wait until 2025 to enjoy it on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms.
