Sonneiko breaks the silence with his recent statement about his Dota 2 PGL Wallachia 2024 feud. The ex-Navi player shared his side of the story and shed more light. Sonneiko alleged that Skitter, Team Falcons' safelaner and ATF's teammate, instigated the situation. Notably, he revealed a starkly different account, directly opposite to ATF's initial explanation.

Sonneiko took to his official Telegraph account to release a lengthy appeal, offering his perspective on the controversy and its aftermath.

The roots of the Dota 2 PGL Wallachia 2024 controversy date back three months to a toxic conversation in a casual Dota 2 pub. ATF allegedly called the Uzbek "braindead," the latter in response argued with the former via private messages on X. Sonneiko shared screenshots the X conversation on his Telegraph appeal. Sonneiko's appeal began with:

"I want to clarify what really happened. I was inactive for half a year and came back about three months ago. I guess things might have changed a lot in DotA since then."

He implied that 70% of players in his bracket's pubs are muted due to toxicity. However, ATF was on his friend list and he could see the toxic messages sent during the game.

"When I play public matches, around 70% of players are muted — I’m sure you can guess why. Ammar was on my friend list, so I could see his messages, and during one game, he called me 'braindead.'"

After being called "braindead" in-game, Sonneiko took matters to the next stage by contacting Falcons' offlaner on X.

The duo had a toxic chat on X where Sonneiko raged and warned ATF. However, in his Telegraph appeal, he mentioned that it wasn't a physical threat and apologized for the tone and wording.

"That got to me, so I messaged him on Twitter and said I’d teach him some manners when we meet. I was speaking emotionally, I admit I was harsh, and I apologize for the tone and wording. But I didn’t threaten him physically, and I’m sharing screenshots here to show what was actually said."

Did Sonneiko threaten to punch and ground ATF in the hotel lobby?

As per Sonneiko's words, he didn't threaten the former OG player. He instead approached ATF with this in mind:

"At the hotel, I saw Ammar with his team. We’re both Muslims, and it was important for me to talk to him face-to-face, as our faith has certain standards of respect and morals we should follow."

Sonneiko goes on to unfold the heated situation:

I approached him with a smile and a friendly vibe, put my arm around his shoulder, hoping he’d take it in the same friendly way, and asked him, “Do you remember why we even had this conflict in the first place? Do you remember what you called me?” His response stunned me: “Yeah, I remember. You’re braindead.”

Sonneiko expected an apology from ATF, given the former is a veteran player with a wealth of experience under his belt. Allegedly, ATF's teammates backed his toxic comment and started ganging up on Sonneiko. This is when Skitter is mentioned as the one being the most vocal. As per Sonneiko:

"I was honestly surprised. I thought he might explain himself or apologize. What shocked me even more was how quickly his teammates jumped in to back him up, just feeling his negative energy, without even trying to understand what was going on. Skitter was the most vocal, so I asked him to give me a moment to talk to Ammar."

Sonneiko suggested stepping outside to talk privately to cool the heated moment. In response, Falcons took it as an invitation to a fight and ATF yelled "Punch me, go on, punch me right here." Sonneiko clarified his intentions, stating his goal was to talk and wanted a calm resolution.

"I suggested we step aside and talk privately, away from everyone, so we could clear things up calmly. Maybe that was seen as an invitation to fight, but my goal was just to talk."

Skitter is said to have sworn at Sonneiko but luckily before things could escalate, the rest of Avulus stepped in and diffused the situation.

"In response, Ammar started yelling, “Punch me, go on, punch me right here,” while Skitter called me a “bitch” and kept pushing for a fight. The conflict escalated very quickly, and my team stepped in to pull me away, which was for the best."

He later ran into Skitter and the duo allegedly met a PGL representative to solve the issue. Skitter apparently cursed the PGL official and insulted Sonneiko's teammate Smiling Knight. The Uzbek questioned the consequences of such toxic behavior in major Dota 2 tournaments.

Before concluding, Sonneiko stated that a one-to-one conversation with ATF would have resolved the issue. He reiterated that his actions were driven by good intentions, but things escalated. Sonneiko criticized Team Falcons for failing to condemn ATF's actions.

After referencing his past dispute with Smiling Knight, Sonneiko called his team's Dota 2 PGL Wallachia 2024 penalty unjust. The appeal ends with his wish to meet Falcons on the main stage and let Dota 2 decide the stronger one.
