Overwatch 2 coming to Xbox Game Pass: Start date and rewards revealed

With Overwatch 2 Season 12 around the corner, Blizzard Entertainment has revealed that the f2p hero shooter is coming to Xbox Game Pass on September 17, 2024. As such, players who have subscribed to Microsoft's Netflix-esque game catalog should not be surprised to see the game on there when the time arrives - but there's more.

Thanks to this promotion, Xbox Game Pass users will also be able to snag 30 Mythic Prisms and six skins for beloved Overwatch characters. Here's everything to know about the game coming to Xbox Game Pass.

All free rewards available with Overwatch 2 on Xbox Game Pass

For starters, 30 Mythic Prisms will be granted to players, allowing them to purchase a set of Mythic skins via the Mythic Shop. With the arrival of Season 12, players will be unable to grab the Mythic Skins for Seasons 10 and 11 during this new season. However, any other - such as the Ancient Caller Moira, Adventurer Tracer, or Zeus Junker Queen are fair game.

As for the other free cosmetics, here are all of them:

• Cardboard Reinhardt (Legendary)
• Turtleship D.Va (Legendary)
• Cyberdragon Hanzo (Legendary)
• Cleric Lifeweaver (Legendary)
• Street Runner Genji (Epic)
• Honey Bee Mercy (Epic)

It should go without saying that players need an active Xbox Game Pass subscription to avail these goodies. Furthermore, they must link their Battle.net account to their Xbox Game Pass account before October 21, 2024, to avail of this offer. Players who redeem them before the date will keep them permanently while those who do not will miss out.

It is highly recommended to link accounts as soon as possible since Blizzard Entertainment intends to have even more rewards in the pipeline for Xbox Game Pass users. These rewards will possibly include Battle Pass XP boosts and cosmetics from previous Seasons.
