Elon Musk, the CTO & Executive Chairman of X (formerly Twitter), took to his account to give a rather hot take on Twitch, the Amazon-owned streaming platform. For those who missed it, Elon shared a meme image directed at Twitch, seemingly suggesting that the streaming site mostly platforms adult-centric content rather than genuine video game streams.
Additionally, he captioned it by writing:
"Stream on X"

This naturally elicited a range of reactions from streamers. For instance, former Twitch streamer Ludwig Ahgren (currently on YouTube), responded to Elon Musk's post by targeting X.com's unmoderated aspects, such as bot accounts promoting p*rnography:
"The idea that you should stream on twitter bc there's less sexual content is insane. P*rn bots run this site."
Ludwig wasn't the only streamer who reacted to the post. Other creators including Clay "Dream," Richard "FaZe Banks" and Alex "Barelyyalex" took to the original post to share their comments:
Has Elon Musk ever streamed on X.com?
Elon Musk, the CEO of X.com at the time, certainly doesn't shy away from promoting his social media platform. In fact, he took to his profile in October 2023 to conduct his first-ever live stream.
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO broadcasted a Diablo 4 gameplay last year. The livestream was an instant hit. Given that he is one of the most followed people on X, his livestream garnered 1.3 million live viewers (concurrency) at one point. Additionally, it also accumulated a total of 7.1 million views (at the time of writing).
The broadcast was around 40 minutes long. The VOD of the entire stream is still available on Elon’s page on X.com. Watch it here:
It's unclear if any mainstream streamers will shift to streaming on X.com, though some content creators have already made the move. For instance, Elon Musk urged YouTube star Jimmy "MrBeast" to share his videos on X.com.
MrBeast typically reuploads his videos on his X.com account. For instance, he uploaded his popular "7 Days in an Abandoned City" video (originally uploaded on March 2, 2024, on YouTube) on the social media platform. However, the video ended up facing some criticism for its authenticity.
