Rainbow Six Siege released a new patch today (June 27, 2024), and was forced to revert it hours later. A hotfix patch was released today, which was meant to go live at 09:00 EDT/13:00 UTC on PCs to help players resolve the deadzone issues the game has been facing including any bugs and glitches. The patch was also supposed to improve the game's overall stability. However, it all backfired within moments.

Many players reported matchmaking errors after the update in Rainbow Six Siege. The issues quickly drew the developers' attention, and the patch has now been reverted.

The hotfix patch ended up creating a matchmaking error for many. However, now that the patch has been reversed, players have been advised to close their game and update it once. This announcement was made by the official Rainbow Six Siege page on X.

The game also acknowledged the issue and maintained that the developers are actively working to fix the underlying cause of it all. This announcement is only limited to the PC and not the console.

Rainbow Six Siege console players may have dodged the bullet narrowly as the patch was meant to go online for consoles too. However, this would have been early next week. The makers did not announce an exact date for the patch release on consoles. The X post explained that the delay was caused by the requirement to synchronize updates with third parties.

Many Siege players had reported issues with the camera cursor and reset deadzones. While many of them were fixed, some remained, prompting developers to release the hotfix.

Now, it would appear that players would have to keep dealing with these issues until another patch is released fixing deadzone and matchmaking issues together. Rainbow Six Siege enthusiasts should keep an eye on the official X page to get updates regarding the patch.
