On August 17, 2024, the developers of Rocket League Sideswipe, Psyonix, announced on X that the game would leave Play Store and App Store on August 23, 2024.
The title is being moved to the recently launched Epic Game Store (EGS). However, a lot of players have found the process of installing Epic Games Store difficult.
Not to mention, the situation is different for Android and iOS devices, and it remains to be seen how this move plays out. Here's what happens to Rocket League Sideswipe on Android and iOS.
iOS devices
Rocket League Sideswipe will be delisted from the App Store only for Apple users living in the EU. If you want to play the title in that region, you must sideload the Epic Games Store and install the game from there.
However, iOS users outside the EU can install the title via AppStore just fine until the developers decide otherwise.
Android devices
On Android, the Psyonix title will be removed from Play Store for both EU and non-EU users. To play Rocket League, you will have to uninstall the game downloaded from the Play Store and download it again from Epic Games Store.
The Season 17 update for Rocket League was launched earlier this week and is only available on EGS.
