Sid Meier's Civilization 7 was recently leaked before Summer Game Fest went live, so fans are no doubt relieved to finally get a confirmation. The next-gen game is once again in development at Firaxis Games, the studio behind the beloved 4X Strategy franchise. Players can expect to see more details in August 2024, so they will have to be patient until then.
A new civilization awaits rebuilding as players step into the shoes of leaders across various periods in human history. Whether cooperating with allies of the nation or seeking glory for themselves, such decisions will decide the outcome of their civilization.
As for release, fans can expect to see it in 2025. Surprisingly, 2K Games is still considering last-gen consoles for launch when many next-gen games are solely targeting current-gen tech to squeeze the most out of them. This also includes Nintendo Switch, which has also seen success with Civilization 6 on the platform.
