Brazilian Free Fire squads Team Solid and LOUD were involved in a controversy during the EWC 2024 after investigations determined that they had attempted to team up with other competitors to get a strategic advantage during games. According to the EWC, their actions were in direct violation of tournament rules, specifically the "15.11.4 Teaming Up" clause.

The EWC 2024 committee was swift to take action and penalized both teams by deducting five points from each. This meant both squads would be at a severe disadvantage in the finals. Taking to EWC's official X account, the organizers said:

"In accordance with the official tournament rules, specifically '15.11.4 teaming up,' an immediate punishment of a deduction of 5 points in today's finals has been given to both team solid and loud."

The statement by Esports World Cup also clarifies that the possibility of additional sanctions is being reviewed and harsher penalties could be presented at a later time.

This development raises concerns about the fair-play factor in EWS tournaments. And while there have been no official statements from LOUD or Team Solid about this incident, the Esports World Cup committee's swift action in penalizing both teams sends a strong message that such behavior will not be tolerated.
