Team Spirit is your CS2 Shanghai Major 2024 champion

The Perfect World CS2 Shanghai Major 2024 has concluded, and Team Spirit has been crowned champions. This was the first-ever CS2 major hosted in China and featured a prize pool of $1.25 million. The community witnessed some of the finest competitive Counter-Strike 2 matches, and viewership was at a record high, with about a million players watching it concurrently.

Team Spirit wins the Perfect World CS2 Shanghai Major 2024

The event started with a show match between Team HAI (Yataro, Zeus, Pashabiceps, JACKZ, and s1mple) and TEAM Bye (Zhou Guanyu, Summer, somebody, MachineWJQ, ChildKing). TEAM Bye won this match on the new Train map, with a score of 15-12.

After nearly an hour, the Grand Final started. Team Spirit won the tournament with a 2-1 scoreline against FaZe Clan. The final scoreline looks like this:

• Nuke: Team Spirit 13-7 FaZe Clan
• Ancient: Team Spirit 6-13 FaZe Clan
• Dust2: Team Spirit 13-11 FaZe Clan

Nuke was a FaZe Clan map pick, while Ancient was picked by Team Spirit. Dust2 was the decider map. Interestingly, both teams lost their map picks.

Danil "donk" Kryshkovets was awarded the MVP of CS2 Shanghai Major 2024. He averaged a rating of over 1.40, which is quite impressive. He is one of the very few players to get multiple ace kills in a major tournament.
