The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom is one of the most anticipated Nintendo exclusives this year, with fans eagerly looking forward to finally trying out the latest franchise entry. Many in the community are quite curious about some of the things they can look forward to in the game, along with when they can finally access the title.

While The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom will be officially dropping on May 12, 2023, the pre-download period for the title is already live. Those who have pre-ordered any one of the editions of the game will now be able to download and pre-install the title on their Nintendo Switch.

The total download size of the game will be around 16.2 GB, which is 2 GB lower than what was earlier listed for it. Nintendo had recently shaved off 2 GB from the final download size of the game without providing any official details.

While The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom preload period is live, players will unfortunately not be able to try the game out early even after installing all 16 GBs of it. They will have to wait till Thursday, May 11, 2023, starting at 9 PM PT or 12 AM ET on May 12, 2023, when the game officially launches, to be able to finally make their way into Hyrule.

This is because, irrespective of the edition of the game that players may have pre-ordered, there is no early access period to look forward to. However, there are certain bonuses that players can get their hands on based on the version of the game they are purchasing.

When it comes to the pre-order, players will be able to get their hands on the base game for $70, with the Collector’s Edition going for $130.
