Valorant professional Hunter "SicK" Mims has been at the center of much controversy recently after fellow streamers and esports athletes expressed concern about his mental well-being. The player associated with Sentinels has been going on random online rants via his Twitch stream and Twitter account.

Mims' recent arrest and subsequent comments from his former teammates and friends suggest that he is not in a good headspace mentally. His rants about drug problems in the US have elicited multiple reactions from people online, with one calling his recent antics a result of a "manic episode":

"Dawg this is a manic episode talking."

"Ignore his tweets": SicK's former teammate and friend ShahZam publicly asks people to ignore him, saying the Valorant player is "not himself"

Hunter's troubles started a few months ago when he started acting erratically online following an online spat with Riot management during the Sao Paulo Lock//In in February 2023. He took to Twitter to announce that despite being on the team list for the Sentinels, he was denied entry.

Following that incident, his tweets became increasingly cryptic, which ultimately led to his arrest on Match 4 in Collin County. He was charged with criminal trespass following an interaction at a Ferrari dealership after he refused to vacate the premises despite being repeatedly asked to.

While most people close to him did not outright comment on the issue then, former Sentinels IGL who took SicK and the others to win the VCT Masters in 2021, ShahZam, who is now in G2, has recently come forward and addressed the situation.

In a tweet, ShahZam revealed that he had to block his friend to make the post and asked fans and others in the public to ignore his recent "erratic" tweets. The Valorant professional went as far as to promise that his former teammate is not himself at the moment and should be excused.

"Hey guys, I have Sick blocked so I can make this tweet. He’s not himself right now, please try your best to ignore his tweets and erratic behavior for now. I promise this isn’t who he is. Thanks for being understanding."

For context, this was tweeted the same day Mims posted this picture.

The fact that he was blocked did not go unnoticed by SicK, who subsequently tweeted out this thread asking ShahZam if he did not understand what was happening:

Readers should note that despite his recent antics, he is still part of Sentinels, and their official website still lists him as a substitute for the Valorant roster. However, the last VCT match that SicK played for Sentinels was back in May 2022, and the player has since then taken to streaming more seriously.

At the time of writing, he has over 538K followers on Twitch and averaged over 10K concurrent viewers on his streams from last month.
