Twitch streamer and video game developer Jason Thor Hall, aka Pirate Software, has announced that he has given his community moderators full-time jobs with international employees also getting comparable rates to the US residents. What's more, the moderation job comes with benefits befitting conventional jobs, including various insurances.
Thor, as he is mostly known among fans, recently got the world record for getting a Twitch Hype Train to level 106, with his viewers gifting over 50,000 subscriptions in approximately three hours. The streamer was naturally overjoyed with the results, and recently revealed that the support from fans has allowed him to get full-time moderators:
"Thank you to everyone in the community for the immense support over the last six months. As a result, tomorrow we're finally able to hire a number of the moderators and other staff full-time."
While many streamers pay their chat moderators and editors, what has surprised the Twitch community is how Pirate Software stated that employees based in the US will get medical insurance and a retirement plan:

"All of the US employees are receiving benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurances. They also have a company retirement plan to make sure they are setup for the far future."
Pirate Software to give Twitch moderators full-time employment
Pirate Software has become an immensely popular figure on Twitch over the last year, amassing over 600K followers. After he broke the Hype Train record a few weeks ago, the content creator got a huge bump in subscribers, currently boasting an impressive 79K subs on the platform.
Aside from streaming games, Thor focuses his broadcasts on throwing light on what goes on behind the scenes during video game development due to his unique perspective as a developer. He even won an award at last month's Streamer Awards as the Best Software and Game Development streamer.
The recent announcement about giving full-time jobs to his moderators has only added to Pirate Software's fame as many in the community praised him for the initiative. As mentioned, while some content creators contractually pay their moderators who administrate chats, it is perhaps the first time that a major streamer has announced insurance benefits and a retirement plan for their mods.
