Ubisoft said:
"Any gameplay impacting content that is purchasable is also unlockable through challenges to ensure fair play amongst our community. For example, the DedSec faction in Preseason will be purchasable or unlockable through an in-game challenge by acquiring 700k XP."
The developer also emphasized its goal of rewarding players' time by providing extensive customization options to those who participate in more matches. All games, victory or defeat, will contribute to a progress bar that unlocks content either by Battle Pass or in-game challenges.
Players can claim rewards from the free Battle Pass, in-game weekly/daily challenges, Ubisoft Connect challenges, weapon mastery, and community participation.
Aside from rewarding players' time, Ubisoft also highlighted its priority on offering extensive customization options for players to express their identity. The game will have Character skins, Weapon skins, MVP Player Animations, Player Cards, Emoji Packs, and more.
At launch, the following content is expected in-game:
- Premium Battle Pass
- Character cosmetics
- Weapon cosmetics
- Faction unlocks
- Player Card Backgrounds
- Player animations
- Emoji packs
XDefiant will be released on May 21, 2024, on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox X/S.
