Ukrainian Twitch streamer records huge explosion on livestream following airstrike on his city

Yesterday, May 7, Punisher3D, a Twitch streamer from Ukraine, captured a series of terrifying explosive sounds on his stream. While playing World of Warcraft, he recorded the sounds which erupted outside. These sounds were caused by the unfortunate drone strikes in Kyiv as part of the ongoing conflict. Initially alarmed by the explosive sounds, the Twitch streamer's reaction eventually turned into laughter.

This clip was rapidly shared on the popular r/LivestreamFail community, which garnered various responses from Ukrainian and American members.

Ukrainian Twitch streamer captures drone strikes during livestream, community reacts

Yesterday, sudden explosions were audible in the capital city of Kyiv. According to reports, five individuals were injured in what is being referred to as the "largest" kamikaze drone attack.

The southern Odesa region was targeted in the attack, resulting in the death of one person. The Red Cross in Ukraine has reported that the strike hit their warehouse. This is now the fourth attack to occur in Kyiv within the past nine days.

Thankfully, Ukrainian air defenses intercepted some of the drones, which helped minimize the overall damage. A particular video clip was shared on the r/CombatFootage subreddit. The clip can be viewed here:

Notably, the sound captured in the aforementioned video clip resembles the one heard during the Ukrainian Twitch streamer's broadcast. However, it has not been confirmed if the two sounds are related.

The Twitch streamer's response was also shared on the LSF subreddit, where many shared their reactions. Some found it amusing that the streamer was playing League of Legends at the time of the incident, while others shared their own personal experiences. Here are some of them:

An individual who resides in Ukraine noted that drone strikes are not nearly as deadly as missile strikes. They wrote:

The user also provided further details about missile interceptions, sharing that they had personally heard one being intercepted as close as 300 meters away. They wrote:


Nonetheless, it is important to note that any aerial attack can cause destruction, as evidenced by the aftermath of these strikes. The gaming community hopes the aggrieved remain safe and in good health.
