Richard Bengston, popularly known as "FaZe Banks" has spoken out about the future of FaZe Clan under new ownership. For those unaware, GameSquare, an international digital media and entertainment company, is acquiring the esports organization. FaZe Banks will take over as CEO as a result. On October 24, 2023, prominent esports personality Jake Lucky shared an excerpt from an interview, in which FaZe Banks claimed that FaZe Clan would "get back" to its former glory.
He said:
"'I'm confident that with Tommy, Apex, and me back in charge of the brank, FaZe Clan will get back to where it was in its peak years,' stated Richard "FaZe Banks" Bengston, who will take on the CEO role of FaZe Clan after the transaction closes."
The 32-year-old continued further, adding:

According to X user @carlhancock, the organization should forge a new identity instead of "clinging" to the past. They added:
"What does that even mean? Instead of trying to cling to the past, they should be looking to forge a new one. What they seem to think they know may have worked eight to ten years ago, but times change. Your audience grows up and ages out. Or at least the smart ones do. And esports is a different landscape."
Meanwhile, one community member wonders if there might be a conflict of interest given that GameSquare is backed by Jerry Jones, who is also a co-owner of rival esports organization Complexity Gaming:
