With Marvel Rivals Season 1 on the horizon, publisher NetEase Games has offered a first look at details concerning the upcoming event, including the main antagonist. Dubbed "Eternal Night Falls," the new season is set to feature Dracula as the main villain. The vampiric entity has teamed up with Doctor Doom to wreak havoc on New York City, which a new set of heroes must face off against.

As per the new lore details, Doctor Strange has become trapped in the Entangled Astral Plane thanks to the Timestream Entanglement event that resulted in the circumstances surrounding Marvel Rivals' multi-universe shenanigans. As a result of this, pages of the evil grimoire Darkhold have scattered and Dracula has emerged.

Backed by Doctor Doom, the duo has managed to disrupt the moon's orbit to engulf the world in darkness and unleash a horde of vampiric creatures. As such, the Fantastic Four — new additions to the Marvel Rivals roster — have been tasked with stopping this source of malice and returning order to the city. Fans can aid them in their endeavor when the update arrives on January 10, 2025.

Interestingly, many of these details, including the arrival of the Fantastic Four had been leaked before but it is great to have official confirmation. Furthermore, the fact that the lore details suggest NYC is under attack suggests it will be one of the maps in the game — which also lines up with previous leaks.
