Almost a year ago, streamer skumnut was banned indefinitely from Twitch after he made a joke in a friend's chat. The latter individual was also a content creator. On the surface, skumnut's joke might seem offensive, as he had written, "I will kick you to death" in Megawastaken's chat. However, he later went on record, explaining that this was a reference to his kick-only God of War Ragnarok run. It appears Megawastaken acknowledged this after the text was sent.
Furthermore, many found it very unfair of Twitch to hand skumnut an indefinite suspension for what he claims to be his very first offense. According to the Streamerbans bot on X, it took the platform more than 11 months and six days to revert this ban. The creator took to social media to celebrate his comeback and replied to Streamerbans' post, saying:
"I always return."

He also attributed getting unbanned to fellow streamer MattApocalypse, who had apparently broached the subject to the platform's staff at a recent Las Vegas TwitchCon. It appears that this request worked, as Skumnut got his indefinite suspension reverted within days after the convention ended.
Why was skumnut banned from Twitch in the first place? Explaining the joke that went wrong
skumnul, primarily known for playing Souls-like games on stream, is popular among his fans for doing challenge runs. Before Twitch banned him about a year ago, he had finished a God of War Ragnarok playthrough on the maximum difficulty by only using the kick attack. He also claims that he was the first person in the world to do so.
After the indefinite suspension was handed to him, skumnut took to his YouTube channel to give his fans an update and explained how and why he had been banned. It appears that after finishing the kick-only run, he had tuned in to watch one of his friends stream some Call of Duty when he made the fateful joke.

The streamer later defended his words, which could be quite offensive out of context. In a YouTube video titled "You Will Never Guess Why Twitch Banned Me," he stated:
"Eventually I said, 'I will kick you to death.' As a joke and as a reference to the fact that I just completed my kick-only run of God of War Ragnarok."
Two and a half minutes into this video, he also provided the clip of him saying the "joke" in the chat and his friend's reaction, which clearly indicates that there was no ill intent. Skumnut also explains:
"There was no malice, no malicious intent. It was simply a joke."
After a friend and Twitch streamer raised the issue with the Twitch staff at the Las Vegas convention, skumnut finally got his account back. He had, however, continued to stream on YouTube during his ban on the Amazon-owned platform and has amassed over 200K subscribers on his channel by making video game content.
