The Wuthering Waves 1.2 banners and character leaks have been on the news for quite some time now, providing the community with a glimpse of the two featured 5-star units of the patch. One of them is Xiangli Yao, and he has been speculated to be on the playable roster as a free Resonator.
So far, Kuro Games has given out three standard 5-star units to newcomers, which has certainly helped them build up a strong account. The inclusion of yet another powerful character for free is certainly welcome in the game.
Speaking of which, the initial source of the leak can be traced back to Uncle Birdie Window, who has an excellent track record when it comes to future character speculations. The third-party source has further claimed that Xiangli Yao will be a Lightning DPS. He was predicted to be a pistol user, but it appears that he might be wielding the Gauntlet in the official release.
Although there isn't any official backing for such claims, fans can rest assured that Xiangli Yao will make an official debut. This has to do with the Wuthering Waves 1.2 drip marketing campaign, which commenced recently. It showed the official artwork of Xiangli Yao and Zhezhi, setting them up to be the featured Resonators in the upcoming banners.
According to the official update schedule, the second-phase banner of version 1.1 will expire on August 14, 2024. Hence, players can expect the next update to go live around August 15, 2024.
