Xiangli Yao in Wuthering Waves has received a few adjustments to his damage numbers, per the leaks from Hakush.in. The following changes were seen in the version 1.2 closed beta and could potentially make it to the official launch:

  • Resonance Liberation damage scaling has been buffed. Instead of 1332.78%, the ability now inflicts 1,466.06% damage when the character is in Intuition state. Additionally, he will gain two stacks of Performance Capacity after hitting an enemy with a dodge-counter attack.
  • Xiangli Yao’s fifth Resonance Chain has been nerfed. The additional Liberation damage multiplier has been decreased from 120% to 100%.

Zhezhi did not see any changes to her multipliers or abilities in the ongoing closed beta test, which means the developers are content with her performance in the title. That said, Wuthering Waves 1.2 will give away Xiangli Yao for free to all players, so it is important that his in-game scaling is balanced enough to align with other accessible 5-star units.

Needless to say, Xiangli Yao will rival Calcharo, who happens to be the current strongest DPS from the Electro element. Despite that, Calcharo is often regarded as underwhelming by some due to his clunky playstyle. Hopefully, Xiangli Yao's gameplay will be different so that he can become the next reliable Electro-damage dealer.
