XDefiant has finally launched Team Deathmatch, one of the highly-anticipated modes in the FPS. The new game mode rolled out during the June 21 update, alongside the major changes to Weapon Mastery progression. With the addition of TDM, Ubisoft's first-person shooter now has six game modes in total: Domination, HotShot, Occupy, Zone Control, and Escort.

Launched in May 2024, XDefiant is a free-to-play FPS game. It takes inspiration from a multitude of titles from Ubisoft, including Watch Dogs, Far Cry, and The Division.

XDefiant's Team Deathmatch game mode explained

XDefiant's Team Deathmatch follows the standard mechanics of the classic game mode present in other FPS titles. In this mode, two teams are pitted against each other with the goal of scoring a certain number of kills in a shorter amount of time.

Players who get eliminated mid-match will respawn in specific spawn points around the map after a few seconds. Afterward, they must head to another round of intense gunfight.

This mode puts players' reflexes, gunfight skills, and map mastery to the test. It offers a thrilling, fast-paced, and action-packed gameplay experience.

Aside from Team Deathmatch, another highly-requested game mode in XDefiant is Search and Destroy, a round-based objective game mode popularized in Call of Duty. Unlike TDM, players only have one life per round here, and the only goal is to attack or defend an objective.

Ubisoft previously confirmed that Search and Destroy will be coming to the game at a later date. Meanwhile, players can enjoy TDM starting June 21, 2024.
