On May 21, 2023, popular streamers Rachell "Valkyrae," Thomas "Sykkuno," and Imane "Pokimane" teamed up to play Fortnite. Before starting to play the battle royale, the content creators chatted for a while, during which Sykkuno disclosed that he wouldn't be attending this year's EDC (Electric Daisy Carnival). He explained that the reason behind his choice was the high cost of tickets for the music festival.
When Valkyrae heard Sykkuno's reason, she called him out and exclaimed:
"Expensive? You're a freaking multi-millionaire! (Sykkuno mentions the leak that revealed streamer earnings) Yeah, the Twitch leaks of 2020. Don't forget!"

Sykkuno's explanation of why he won't be attending EDC 2023 leaves Valkyrae and Pokimane stunned
Sykkuno got together with Valkyrae and Pokimane at the eight-minute mark of his recent livestream. The YouTuber was seemingly running late, so he took the opportunity to make a joke about missing EDC to play Fortnite with his friends:
"(Valkyrae says Sykkuno mentioned that he was going to be late today) Yeah, and I'm not the last one here. So, happy about that. You know, guys, I'm skipping out on EDC to play Fortnite with you guys. That's how much you matter."
Upon hearing this, Valkyrae stated that she was developing a sprain from rolling her eyes so much at him:
"We just started, and I'm already, like, rolling my eyes so hard, I'm getting a sprain."

Sykkuno giggled slyly and revealed that he had no plans to attend the music festival. He then disclosed the actual reason behind his decision:
"Fine, I didn't want to go to EDC. It's expensive! It's expensive, and I'm just going to walk around with my earplugs. Why would I? Yeah, it's like, $1,000! They changed. You can't buy one-day tickets anymore."
It was at this point that Valkyrae called out the former Twitch streamer, claiming he is a multi-millionaire. The conversation concluded with Sykkuno adding:
"Whoa, whoa! Let's not expose that, even though it was already exposed during the Twitch leaks of 2020. But, the point is... I know that was a joke. I think it's 2022, actually. Anyway, the point is, it's still expensive! And I was just going to walk around with the earbuds in. So, it's kind of, you know... wait, was it 2020? I don't remember. Anyway."

The YouTube comments featured over 140 reactions, and here's a snippet of some pertinent ones:
According to one fan, Sykkuno's decision not to spend so much money on music festival tickets was the "right approach." Meanwhile, another community member stated that $1,000 would cover the tuition fees for one semester in some countries.
