"You were recruited unfortunately during the darkest era" - FaZe Banks responds to Kalei after streamer got kicked from FaZe Clan

Richard "FaZe Banks" has responded to Twitch streamer Kalei following her expulsion from FaZe Clan. For context, on April 27, 2024, FaZe Banks announced the restructuring of the esports organization, which included the layoff of several well-known content creators. This included Kalei.

During a livestream on the same day, Kalei burst into tears while discussing the situation. She claimed she was "one of the only" members capable of "pulling millions of impressions." The content creator also claimed that she did not get paid.

She said:

"I'm being serious. I got kicked. One of the only members that can pull millions of impressions a week. Top streamer for Warzone... and still had so much love and passion for a team that I didn't even get paid to stay there. I stayed because I loved it."

Earlier today (April 28, 2024), Kalei addressed the community via a tweet. While expressing her gratitude for the opportunities and friends she made during her time at FaZe Clan, the 24-year-old wrote:

"I'm so grateful for all the opportunities, I'll never forget when I got the phone call and got asked to join FaZe. the friends I made on the way. The support from my community. Everything. Thank you and wishing the best for them. Here's to a new beginning."

FaZe Banks responded, claiming that the "only reason" Kalei was kicked out of FaZe Clan was because a "genuine relationship couldn't have been formed." He went on to say that Kalei joined the organization in its "darkest era."

He added:

"Today sucked. I promise the only reason you were let go is because a genuine relationship couldn't really ever have been formed. Because of the nature in which you were recruited. You were recruited unfortunately during the darkest era of FaZe and we just have to wipe our slate clean at all costs."

After claiming that FaZe Clan needed to "wipe their slate clean," FaZe Banks stated that it was "paramount" for the organization to restore "the vibes" to its roots. The 32-year-old also stated that Kalei "fell on the corpo bucket," claiming it was "not fair."

Richard wrote:

"It's paramount to getting this brand/the vibes at this team/company back to where I know they can be. Friends f**king around playing video games cracking humor. You fell in this corpo bucket and it’s not fair, but just know it's unfair for us too. Like this isn't fun. It hasn't been for a very long time. We're just trying to get it back to that."
