Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch development studio Level-5 Games will have a big announcement next year. It seems the studio will be taking to E3 next year to announce an upcoming PS4 title.
Company boss Akihiro Hino confirmed the news during a live stream of White Knight Chronicles II, a game that Japanese PlayStation Plus members will be receiving for free this month. During the stream, Hino mentioned that he wanted the new title to exceed the scale of White Knight Chronicles-which would be no mean feat, given that the PlayStation 3 RPG contained around 100 hours of gameplay.
Alas, it’s unclear whether Level-5’s next title will be exclusive to PlayStation 4. Given that Ni No Kuni: Wraith of the White Witch was exclusive to PlayStation 3 when it released last year — 2010’s scaled-down DS release not withstanding — it seems likely that the studio is working on a direct sequel to the beloved tale of Oliver and Mr. Drippy.
Will it be a PS4 exclusive? Will it be a sequel to Ni No Kuni? Well we don’t have answers now. Keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best.
