The currently ongoing chapter in Genshin Impact takes place in Natlan, the sixth region of Teyvat that the Traveler has been to on their journey to find their sibling. The Pyro nation has been generally expected to be followed by the nation of Cryo, Snezhnaya — the seventh and last region in Teyvat (as per the Teyvat Travail video released by HoYoverse in 2020).
However, recent leaks have hinted at Snezhnaya's release being delayed, with Nod-Krai (which, interestingly, is located in the Snezhnaya nation itself) being the next region to be added to the game. Moreover, the developers themselves have confirmed the latter as one of the areas to be released in the game soon.
This article provides more information (covering official sources as well as leaks) regarding Nod-Krai, including its area location on the map and its expected release window in Genshin Impact.

Genshin Impact Nod-Krai location and expected release window
Nod-Krai is a region in southern Snezhnaya that was first name-dropped in-game by the NPC Liben during the Marvelous Merchandise event in Genshin Impact 5.1. Liben mentioned falling prey to thefts in Nod-Krai, and warned the Traveler to "stay on their toes" while in the area.
A previous leak from credible leaker UTeyvat had disclosed Snezhnaya's probable location and size on the map of Teyvat. Based on that information, Nod-Krai being in southern Snezhnaya would mean that the former could be situated north of Natlan, and north-west of Sumeru.
More information about the region of Nod-Krai was revealed by the developers during the official Genshin Impact 5.3 livestream — even though it is situated in Snezhnaya, it is an autonomous area. People from various factions all over Teyvat seem to gather there for purposes yet unknown. The developers also mentioned that the gameplay experience in this southern Snezhnayan area would be vastly different from that in the past six nations, implying that something completely new could be added to the game with the region.
Furthermore, a Genshin Impact roadmap for the next six months was also revealed by the developers during the livestream. It included hints about upcoming regions and characters, with Nod-Krai being one of the teased areas that will be introduced to players within the first half of 2025.
Meanwhile, a leak from @hxg_diluc and Full Stop Chan has hinted at Nod-Krai being the next area to be released in 6.0, instead of Snezhnaya. Genshin Impact 6.0 is expected to be released sometime during August/September 2025, although it could very well come sooner. As such, if the leak turns out to be true, Nod-Krai could be released to players next year as an entry point to Snezhnaya.
However, considering the presence of varying information regarding the region's release (from the developers and the leakers), it is highly possible that HoYoverse might conclude the 5.x Natlan patches early in June 2025 and jump straight into Nod-Krai. Players will thus need to wait and look out for more official news from HoYoverse regarding the area's release.
