"Omg that's diabolical": Marvel Rivals community debates nerfing this overpowered ability in-game

Marvel Rivals launched on December 6, 2024, and the community has already found interesting ways to use some of the hero abilities in the game. One of the particularly hilarious ones was shared by Mlol09 on r/marvelrivals, which involved Doctor Strange’s portal ability, Pentagram of Farallah. They shared a video showing five opponents falling off because of a carefully placed portal out of the map.

The entire community found it quite funny that players could be tricked in such ways, and user u/KittySpinEcho commented:

Another user, u/NoctisEdge13, pointed out how hilarious and creative it was. They further stated their anticipation about other creative abilities the community can come up with:

The creative use of Doctor Strange's portals was acknowledged by user u/ChosenUndead15 when they said that the player must have been good at the Portal games by Valve:

“Something tells me this guy is really good at Portal and Portal 2.”

Finally, u/dare3000 commented that as a Doctor Strange main, they always dreamed of such a clever trick but always thought it would not work as the portals show up on the map. However, it looked funny when it worked out.

Pentagram of Farallah is an ability of Doctor Strange, a Vanguard in the game. This ability allows Strange to open two portals anywhere on the map, allowing his team and his opponents to travel through them anytime.

To nerf the use of this ability in clever ways like the one mentioned above, the developers should look to add a cooldown period before this ability can be used after the start of the round. This will avoid such cheesy use of this ability and force players to be more strategic with their portal placements.
