Some Once Human players are upset about pending seasonal server wipes, but Eternaland is going to help alleviate some of the stress that comes with it. Not everyone is going to be let down by losing all their hard work though. This data loss is incredibly common in online games that use a seasonal system. Rust, for example, has been doing server wipes for years. Diablo 4 does seasonal wipes as well, but players get to keep their characters for the Eternal Realm.
With the official launch of the Once Human servers, there will be eventual server wipes but there is a lot of mystery surrounding Eternaland. Not everyone knows what it will be or what it means for players. Hence, this article dives into Eternaland and why it’s important. Moreover, it may not be players’ only recourse for permanent homes in this survival MMO.

Once Humans’ Eternaland is a private island that provides access to every player. It’s a location with zero building restrictions, meaning you can set up a base anywhere you want. Think of it as something similar to Dragon Quest Builders 2’s main hub, or something more modern, like Fortnite’s Creative Mode.
The whole point of Eternaland in Once Human is to let players keep some of the things they unlock after the seasonal server wipes take place. These server wipes will remove all your hard work, but Eternaland will allow you to keep some of it. You can then use those things outside of the main game.
Players will be able to transfer their weapons, armor, and crafting materials to Eternaland. You will also be able to migrate items and data that could previously carry over to new seasons. While the game has no Offline Mode, Eternaland is probably the closest option available. It will serve as a place where there are no limits to what one can do. The longer you play the game, the more you will be able to unlock items on each server, and more possibilities will open up in Eternaland.
To unlock Eternaland, you need access to the Greywater Camp and take the story quest that leads you to Mirage Monolith - home to the giant spider boss. Once you defeat that boss and return to camp, the game will introduce you to Eternaland.
Private servers could potentially act as permanent areas, free of seasonal wipes
Eternaland might not be enough for some Once Human players, though. The idea of losing everything and starting over each season is frustrating, especially in the survival MMO genre. Nothing is more painful than having to start your grind over repeatedly every couple of months.
Private servers could be another fix to that issue. It’s possible that private servers won’t have to perform resets but that’s not set in stone. These servers don’t exist yet, but it is on the radar of the developers.
Starry Studio is listening to its fans, and if enough players suggest that private servers should be able to set their limits for seasonal wipes (or never reset), developers may listen. This is hypothetical, though. We don’t know what rules private servers will have in the future. But if nothing else, Eternaland will always be there.
