The Overwatch 2 Season 11 mid-season patch has introduced a range of new overturned updates for Tanks. This has sparked a massive outcry in the community, and players are demanding improved balance, or better yet, a 6v6 variant of the game. Pro players, content creators, and the general fanbase have been significantly affected as any role other than Tank feels miserable to play.
On that note, popular OW2 streamer, Flats, stated on X:
"So far, 12 hours in, gotta say, tank is MUCH more fun, HOWEVER, other roles are suffering, and that can't stay, I do wish we could have both, though I don't think that's possible"

Responding to Flats, numerous players said the Tanks buffs that came with the Season 11 mid-season patch are a bit much.
While Tanks needed an update, the power creep with this update has made the game almost unplayable for other Hero classes.
Users like @Gojacks4 are of the opinion that the development team has finally come close to potentially acing the 5v5 format of OW2.
A majority of players strongly believe that the game is suited to 6v6, and forcing a 5v5 format will almost always result in an unbalanced environment. However, @Gojacks4 remains optimistic that a few more touches will finally balance this title to the community's desired level.
On the contrary, emphasizing how Flats stated the miserable status of other Hero classes, @AccurateMemin shared how little of an impact they felt while playing the game as a Damage Hero.

Some players were more focused on the rampant power creep among Heroes in Overwatch 2. Over the past few updates, Blizzard Entertainment has solely resorted to increasing HP pools and damage numbers, while adding waves of buffs, to tune the game.
Irrespective of the comp size, players like @DisturbdWaffles said addressing the power creep issue would solve half the balance issues in the title.
The demand for the return of 6v6 in Overwatch 2 is at an all-time high. From renowned content creators to veteran competitive grinds, players are starting to feel that the lack of a sixth character will force an unfavorable meta in the game.
Samito, a popular OW2 content creator, explained the benefit of having 6v6 in the game. With every Hero's abilities nerfed to suit the new format, players, according to him, would experience a better gameplay loop than they do in the current 5v5 scenario.
X user @NTMRgg called out the latest mid-season update by simply labeling it the "WORST PATCH EVER."
The relentless Tank buffs that have been incorporated for this season, alongside previous seasonal updates, definitely shift the tide in these Heroes' favor. Other roles feel redundant and seemingly have no impact in most matches.

Is the negativity towards the Overwatch 2 Season 11 mid-season patch justified?
After constantly promising to fix the unfavorable balance issues in Overwatch 2, Blizzard Entertainment has time and time again failed to deliver on its promise. As evident from the reactions above, the game's last few updates have left the community extremely frustrated, and the latest mid-season patch even more so.
With OW2 Season 11's mid-season update, Tanks have received ginormous buffs to their kits, and no other role stands a chance to have an impact in the game. All in all, we believe that the dev team should consider the community feedback and roll out any upcoming patch with due consideration to the requirements of the masses.
