A new Overwatch 2 Flashpoint map will debut in the future seasons

Although the developers haven’t disclosed the release date of this new map, players can expect to see it debut in the next two or three seasons. Based on the Q&A, the developers were initially unsure of what changes they should bring to Flashpoint with the new map and the things they should implement in this upcoming inclusion for it to be enjoyable.

However, the team has since gained an exceptional amount of information from the first batch of Flashpoint maps, New Junk City and Suravasa. As such, they are now quite confident about what to implement in the new map.

Almost a year has passed since both of the aforementioned maps were released with Season 6: Invasion, the developers have been working on the upcoming map for quite a long time. If it has a layout different from the same rectangular one associated with the existing maps, it will feature a different and unpredictable playstyle. The map might facilitate fast-paced gameplay or a laid-back approach.

When this brand-new Flashpoint map is released in Overwatch 2, players will be able to queue and explore it from the Quickplay and Competitive playlists. Additionally, the developers might implement an Arcade game mode where you can only play the new inclusion, although it may get boring quickly since no one likes to play the same map over and over again.
