There has been quite an uproar regarding Overwatch 2 (OW2) on popular social media website, X (previously Twitter), where a player has seemingly discovered quite a game-breaking bug with Baptiste. With the launch of Season 7 Rise of Darkness, a similar bug took over the game with Hanzo, resulting in the Hero being disabled from the competitive queue for a while.
Judging by the severing of the bug, and considering how it can turn the tides of the game in certain moments, we anticipate that Baptiste will be the next Hero who will see a temporary downtime in Overwatch 2.

New Baptiste bug allows players to heal through walls in OW2
Ex-Overwatch pro player Rak, in a recent post on X (previously Twitter), showcased the game-breaking bug in the platform. What seemingly might look like a feature to new players is definitely something that can alter the tides of the game, provided the situation allows it to do so.
Baptiste, Overwatch 2's popular Support Hero already has quite a high impact in games. Kitted with some of the most powerful Support abilities, this additional bug is definitely going to break the competitive integrity of the game.
A number of content creators and pro players have also seemingly experimented with the Hero and have found that the bug has been prevalent for a while now.
Though its origin is unclear, it is absolutely up to Blizzard to quickly patch this and restore the game's competitive integrity.
According to Rak, the bug only works when done through thin penetrable walls. This opens up opportunities across multiple maps, such as Havana, Numbani, Colosseo, Hollywood, and more.
Will Baptiste be disabled from Overwatch 2's competitive queue?
Judging from previous trends, Overwatch 2 has taken quite an apt response to fix any unbalanced bugs in the game. Our speculation definitely aligns with believing that Baptiste will be disabled from OW2's competitive queue in the coming days.
Previously, Hanzo, Torbjorn, and Bastion have been victims of unprecedented bugs that broke the competitive integrity of Overwatch's ranked mode.
Blizzard Entertainment has consistently resorted to disabling the affected Hero for a temporary period, which might range anywhere between a day to a week, in order to ensure players don't lose their hard-fought competitive games due to unintended bugs.
Hence, it is only a matter of time till we see Baptiste being disabled and the error being patched subsequently during his downtime.
So far, there have been no official statements from Blizzard Entertainment with regard to the situation. To stay updated with OW2 news, stay tuned to Sportskeeda's Esports and Gaming section.
