Overwatch 2 Season 12 trailer breakdown: New hero, game mode, maps, and more

Overwatch 2 Season 12 is all set to release on August 20, 2024. A brand new trailer was released today, August 14, showcasing a new hero in action and a game mode. The new support hero from Mars is named Juno. Her abilities include the Mediblaster and Pulsar Torpedoes, which allow her to heal allies and damage opponents simultaneously.

Furthermore, a new game mode is also coming to Overwatch 2 Season 12 titled Clash, where teams battle one another to gain control of multiple capture points. This article will explain more about the upcoming season.

Overwatch 2 Season 12 trailer breakdown: New hero, game mode, and more

The exciting new trailer of Overwatch 2 is narrated by Juno for the most part. The Hero is the latest addition to the roster and was initially announced in July 2024. Below are all of Juno's weapons and abilities:

• Mediblaster: The Mediblaster heals allies and damages enemies. It acts as the Primary Fire for Juno.
• Pulsar Torpedoes: Heals allies over time and lands damage on enemies. This is a projectile-type ability.
• Orbital Ray: Her Ultimate ability calls down a ray that heals allies and increases their damage.
• Gliding Boost: Allows gliding horizontally with increased movement speed.
• Hyper Ring: Deploy a ring that increases the movement speed of allies.
• Martian Overboots: This is Juno's Passive ability. While airborne, press the jump key to double jump and hold it to hover.

While Juno should make a fine addition to the existing roster, the Overwatch 2 Season 12 trailer featured more announcements, including new skins for existing Heroes, such as Reaper and Mercy.

New game mode: Clash

As mentioned, the upcoming game mode is Clash, which is described as being rather fast-paced. The mode will have five objectives titled with letters from A to E. Players will battle against one another to gain control of these capture points across the map.

It will feature streamlined spawn points, which means eliminated players can quickly jump right back into action after being killed. Furthermore, new maps were also introduced for the specific game mode.
