The Overwatch 2 Tank tier list is bound to undergo a change after the release of Season 13 on October 15, 2024. This is because a ton of map and hero changes were introduced, therefore, the way that different Tanks interact with the enemy team has changed to a certain extent. Of course, in the end, Hero selection in Overwatch 2 comes down to team composition and overall player comfort.

Regardless, this Overwatch 2 Tank tier list will break down how different Tanks fit into different categories based on their overall viability and impact in the game in the 13th season of the game.

Overwatch 2 Tank tier list for Season 13

S tier

The S tier consists of perhaps the strongest Tanks in Overwatch 2 currently. These heroes are perfect picks because of their overall well-roundedness and versatility. The S-tier is currently graced by only two heroes who are as follows:

• Orisa
• Ramattra

Orisa is one of the best Tanks to pick for just about any team composition in Overwatch 2 season 13. She has a 120-damage cross-map stun, is brilliant at taking damage, and her overall mobility has also improved after the past few updates.

Ramattra can decimate enemy defenses and allow your team to get past them to gain control over the map. While his shield-piercing powers had recently been removed, the latest hotfix patch of October 29, 2024, has brought them back. All in all, he is our S-tier pick for all brawl matchups.

A tier

The A tier consists of five Tank heroes in total, these are:

• D.Va
• Winston
• Sigma
• Reinhardt
• Junker Queen

Reinhardt recently faced a shield nerf putting him somewhat behind the S-tier heroes. However, you can still stay in the game for long thanks to his overall defensive stats. Sigma on the other hand, can be rather offensive with his ranged attacks and mobility but lags behind in terms of sheer defensive abilities.

Mobility is also the key factor with other Tanks such as D.Va and Winston as you can easily rush an enemy team and try dealing heavy damage. These Tanks can get in and out of trouble more efficiently than many others.

Finally, Junker Queen may be the most unique of all Tanks in this tier. Her Commander's Shout can help push her team to victory but her defensive abilities are not as strong as the others in the A-tier. She can be an offensive maelstrom of attacks but the skill-ceiling is significantly higher due to the unique playstyle.

B tier

According to us the Overwatch 2 Tank tier list for B-tier consists of three Tank heroes including:

• Mauga
• Doomfist
• Zarya

Mauga recently received an interesting buff with his ignite damage increasing over time. The damage was increased from three seconds to four. However, his Ultimate ability is still not strong enough to keep the scorecards positive and his defensive stats still need to be pushed before he can make it to the upper tiers.

Doomfist can spam well which enables him to defeat DPS heroes faster. Regardless, he doesn’t have any armor nor does he deal a lot of damage to armored Tanks which makes him a liability against the A or S-tier heroes.

Finally, Zarya is great for rush team compositions, however, her defense is penetrable and her mobility is lower than many other heroes.

C tier

The Overwatch 2 Tank tier list for C-tier consists of only one Tank hero:

• Wrecking Ball

Wrecking Ball has a lot of mobility but his attacks are rather easy to counter as compared to other Tank heroes. DPS heroes like Sombra can counter Wrecking Ball well and Support heroes like Juno can heal all the damage he deals making it difficult to make a significant impact with the particular Tank. You may also not be able to defend the team and hold off enemies with Wrecking Ball, at least, not as well as you can do it with Orisa or even Reinhardt.

D tier

Finally, the Roadhog fills the spot for D-tier on our Overwatch 2 Tank tier list

• Roadhog

Roadhog is currently the worst Tank hero you can pick during Overwatch 2 Season 13. His healing capabilities have improved over time and newer buffs have made him stronger.

However, in terms of overall mobility and defensive capacities, he just lags behind. Spamming opponents recklessly may also not work at all times, especially against other Tanks like Sigma or Ramattra. Perhaps Roadhog will need significant buffs before he can be viable in the current meta.
