Palworld Expedition guide: How to start, rewards, and more

Expedition is one of the many features added in the Palworld Feybreak Update released on December 23, 2024. This update adds tons of new content to the game, including a brand-new Island, new Pals, unique skills, hardcore mode, a raid boss, and the titular expedition mechanic. Expedition allows you to send your Pals to a dungeon. While sending them on a journey will make them temporarily inaccessible, the rewards make for a fair trade-off.

This article provides a walkthrough of the new mechanic, from the requirements needed to use it to the rewards received from a successful one.

The titular feature in Palworld allows a player to send Pals on a journey to a particular location. To send a Pal to a dungeon in the game, you'll need to build a Pal Expedition Station beforehand. To build a station, you'll need the following materials and prerequisites:

Requirements:

• Technology Level: 15
• Points: 2

Materials Needed:

• Wood x20
• Stone x20
• Paldium Fragments x5

It is also better to clear up some space for the station, considering it will take a large area to set up.

How to send Pals on Expeditions

Once you build a station, you can use it to send your Pals to one of the seven journeys currently available in the game. However, these dungeons are connected to the towers in the game, thus you can only unlock a dungeon if you conquer the tower related to it.

Each dungeon also has a recommended firepower stat, meaning it is better to send in higher-level Pals who can handle the heat of the journey. You can individually select each Pal you want to send on the voyage until you reach the recommended firepower. Alternatively, the station's auto-select feature will automatically recommend Pals for you.

It is suggested that you try to go above the recommended firepower rate, as having higher firepower will increase your chances of earning rewards while reducing the time taken to complete it, whereas the vice versa will be true if you're lower than the recommended firepower.

Different dungeons in Palworld will offer different rewards. However, it is unlikely you'll get the desired item in your first go-through, considering you'll only have a probability of getting that item and not a guaranteed drop by default. However, keep sending your Pals to dungeons frequently and you'll ultimately receive your reward.

The rewards can include Pal spheres, Pal souls, creature drops, and other items. Here's a detailed list of all the rewards that can drop from the odyssey:
