Perfect World, Valve’s Chinese partner is all set to host CS2 Shanghai Major 2024, commencing on November 30, 2024 (main event). The company is popularly known as a joint publisher of CS: GO in China. Additionally, the people behind the Chinese company are also responsible for hosting B and C-tier tournaments. Hence, Valve has given Perfect World a massive opportunity this time to host the CS2 Shanghai Major 2024 on Asian soil.

Teams worldwide will participate in this prestigious tournament to "graffiti" their name on the walls of Counter-Strike history. Meanwhile, players will also look forward to lifting that shiny trophy alongside an alluring prize pool of $1,250,000.

According to an X post from @CS_PerfectWorld, the Regional Major Rankings (RMRs) of the Perfect World CS2 Shanghai Major 2024 will be hosted on LAN in Shanghai, China, starting from November 11.

• NA Closed Qualifier: August 26 - August 28

Qualification Criteria

• All 7 teams qualified from the Americas region will be qualified for the Opening Stage of CS2 Shanghai Major 2024.
• Meanwhile, 14 teams from the Europe region will be qualified for the main event where 6 teams will be qualified for the Opening stage, while the remaining 8 teams will qualify directly to the Elimination Stage.
• On the other hand, only 3 teams from the Asia region will qualify for the Opening Stage of the tournament.

Perfect World, the Chinese partner of Valve, had an earlier experience of hosting Dota 2 Shanghai Major in 2016. However, according to several netizens, the experience wasn’t memorable due to PC lags, production issues, and other obstacles. However, we hope that the Chinese Esports Production company will learn from their mistake and make this as memorable as possible for players and fans coming in to enjoy the tournament.
