Pokemon Let's Go: Pikachu and Eevee introduced Pokemon riding where you could sit on a Kangaskhan or a Charizard and move faster. The feature was also seen in the Generation 6 games X & Y where you could ride a Gogoat.
The Galar region in Sword and Shield seems to be much bigger than any other region we have seen so far. Hopefully, the games have the riding Pokemon feature where you can traverse the world at a faster pace.

In Let's Go: Pikachu and Let's Go: Eevee, the Safari Zone in Fuschia City was replaced with "Go Park" where players could transfer their Pokemon from the Pokemon Go app to the Switch game.
The connection may not be useful for players who don't play Pokemon Go but for those who do, it would be a lot easier to trade Pokemon in order to fill your Pokedex. We don't know if Sword and Shield plans to release a previous generation trading system but hopefully, Dex filling isn't a heavy grind.
