#2 Better post-game content

The last few Pokemon Games have had a rather lackluster post-game content. There was not much to do other than filling your dex and challenging a harder Elite Four. The best post-game content was probably from Gold/Silver/Crystal and the remakes HeartGold & SoulSilver where you could travel to the Kanto region and battle 8 more gym leaders.

Repeating Trainer Battles and Elite Four is not enough. Even if there is a creative way to unlock more post-game content where the story is not over, it will make Sword and Shield a lot more fun playing.

#1 New Game+

This is a feature that Gamefreak will probably never give players but one can dream. The Pokemon Games have only seemed to become easier and easier with each new release. The Let's Go: Pikachu and Eevee games did not have the same level of difficulty that Red/Blue/Yellow did.

While the Pokemon games are mostly designed for kids, there are still many adult veterans who have been dedicated to the series. A New Game+ with increased difficulties will make the game a lot more challenging and fun for players. Sword and Shield was a rather rushed project so they probably won't have time to implement this feature (as if they ever planned it).

The "Hard Mode" that Pokemon fans have come up with is the Nuzlocke challenge. While you can't increase the difficulty in game, players got creative. The Nuzlocke challenge involves players releasing their Pokemon once they have fainted in battle. Yes, even your starters.

That makes the game a lot more exciting and thrilling. It's not very easy to level up a new Pokemon especially as you challenge Gym Leaders and new trainers.
