Solving the "out of memory" error while launching Stalker 2
Verify the integrity of game files
First things first, verify the integrity of your game files to make sure that none of the game files are damaged or tampered with. To do this, follow these steps:
- Launch Steam on your PC
- Open your Game Library.
- Right-click on the game and open Properties.
- Browse through all the options and go to the Installed Files tab.
- Select Verify Integrity of Game Files and let Steam analyze everything.
- After this is done, try opening the game and check if the issue persists.
Check available storage
Since the game requires a lot of storage, ensure you have a little space available on the disc where you store the game. Additionally, free up some memory for Shaders too. For this, simply open the control panel of your graphics card and then select "3D Settings." From here, find "Shader Cache Size" and navigate through all the options available. From the drop-down menu, select "Unlimited."
Check for GPU driver updates
Using outdated drivers on your graphics card can also cause the game to crash. If you're using an Nvidia graphics card, download the latest updates via the GeForce Experience software. If you're on Team Red and use an AMD GPU, update the drivers via the AMD Adrenalin Edition software.
Other fixes
- If the game still crashes, try running the game in administrator mode. For this, right-click on Stalker 2's .exe file and click on "Run as administrator."
- Update the BIOS of your motherboard.
- Start the game in "Windowed Mode."
- From "Power Options" in the Control Panel, switch to the "Power Saver" option.
