PUBG Update 32.1 merges multiple server regions, introduces new arcade game mode, and more

PUBG Update 32.1 is right around the corner, and there's a whole range of changes coming players' way. From the merging of servers to the introduction of a whole new arcade game mode, the 32.1 update will definitely switch up the gameplay experience in the fan-favorite battle royale.

PUBG Update 32.1 introduces region merge

Debuting on October 10, 2024, 12 AM UTC for PC and October 17, 2024, 1 AM UTC for consoles, PUBG Update 32.1 proposes to introduce a region merge in the game. According to the official patch notes for the update, players can expect the following servers to get merged in the game:

PC

  • AS + KR/JP → AS
  • NA + SA → AMER
  • OC + SEA → SEA

Console

  • NA + SA → AMER
  • AS + OC → APAC

What is the new game mode coming with PUBG Update 32.1?

The latest 32.1 PUBG update will add a brand-new arcade game mode to the title's playlist. Players can expect the introduction of 'Hungers Left Behind' in the playlist.

While we do not have a distinctive list of what players can expect from this new mode, we speculate that this addition will be part of the Halloween Package featured with the update.

As per the patch notes, the difficulty of this Arcade game mode will be set to 'Nightmare.' Naturally, players are going to have to get their focus in line to successfully conquer the game mode.

PC players can expect 'Hungers Left Behind' to go live on October 10, 2024, at 7 AM UTC, and end on November 3, 2024, at 3 pm UTC. As for console players, this game mode will be added to their arcade playlist on October 17, 2024, at 7 am UTC, and will end on November 10, 2024, at 3 pm UTC.

Alongside these new massive chunks of news, players can also expect numerous other additions with the release of the 32.1 update for PUBG.

Customization

A range of new customization features will be added to the game. Players will have increased options to customize their character as per their will and opt for unique appearances.

New preset slots will also be introduced, which means players can save gender information and the distinct appearances of their characters. They can also copy and paste their presets using the new 'Copy Preset' feature.

Gameplay changes

The patch notes also list the following quality-of-life changes that will be implemented with the latest update.

  • Emojis have been added to the Radio Message Wheel.
  • You can set the display order for Dialogue and Emojis with the new 'Radio Message Display Priority' option under Settings - Gameplay - Interface.
  • A Block/Allow Emojis button has been added to the Team Management section.
  • This setting resets every match.

QoL

  • Updated the UI and options for the Radio Message Wheel - Dialogue.
  • Reduced the time it takes to activate the Radio Message Wheel.
  • You can now activate the Radio Message Wheel more quickly by moving the mouse while holding down the wheel clicks.
  • Radio Messages are now accessible while spectating teammates.
  • Text visibility has been enhanced for better readability.
  • Radio Messages are now automatically displayed when reviving and healing teammates.

Misc.

  • The ability to hand items to teammates has been disabled due to the removal of the 'Need Ammo' and 'Need Med' Dialogue options.

Last but not least, the Ping system is set to be revolutionized with PUBG Update 32.1. Players can expect the following changes to the Ping system:

  • Placing Screen Ping Markers no longer triggers Radio Messages.
  • A Screen Ping Marker will be placed when using the ‘Enemy Spotted’ Radio Message.
  • Screen Ping Markers can now be seen from all directions on the compass.
  • When Screen Ping Markers overlap on the compass, the newest marker will be displayed first
