Rainslasher is a 4-Star claymore that can be obtained via wishes and it has been available in Genshin Impact since its original release via patch 1.0. Rainslasher gives Elemental Mastery as a Substat, and passively grants a huge bonus to damage done to enemies afflicted with either Hydro or Electro, which makes it a solid choice for reaction-heavy team compositions.

Appearance
Each weapon has two forms, one when it is initially summoned and another once it has reached a certain level of ascension. Once this occurs, the weapon will undergo a change in its design. Rainslasher is a large rectangular claymore colored green and silver, with a blunted hammer shaped blade head causing it to be more of a striking weapon than a slashing one.
Non-Ascended
Rainslasher has silver edges that run down to its handle along with two green gems at its base that resemble eyes.
Ascended
The handle of Rainslasher turns a bright golden color, along with the base of its blade.
Story
A dimly fluorescent greatsword with no sharp edge.
Years ago it was known as the "Beacon of the Nether" by the mountain bandits.
Seeing it meant there was no way back.
The only way was forward, towards the end of one's life.
"Formless, like the rain that cuts through rain. Weightless, like the light that pierces light."
"Untouchable, moving like a snake. Inescapable, as sword's stare and polearm's glance."
The Rainslasher was named out of reverence for its master. Originally it had no name.
The blade's first and final master was a martial nomad who went by the name of Guhua.
It is said that he was an adeptus. While Guhua lived, bandits dared not act and the wilderness knew a peace like that of the city.
Allegedly, at the end of his journey he ascended in a purple haze and became a star.
One to whom Guhua had shown kindness founded what is now known as the Guhua School in his honor. But no school is destined to last forever.
Trivia
-Rainslasher is the only 4-Star Claymore with an Elemental Mastery Substat.
-Has the 2nd lowest base ATK of all 4-Star claymores with 42 at level 1 and 51 at level 90.
FAQs
Is Rainslasher good?
With its mediocre base ATK stat, and its substat granting Elemental Mastery, Rainslasher is rather niche in its usage. It demands that it be used in compositions that constantly output reactions in order to be efficient. Not that this is particularly difficult, but it is a clear limitation that stifies its flexibility in usage.
Who are some of the best users of Rainslasher?
The two characters that stand out the most are Beidou and Sayu, especially at higher levels of refinement. Beidou can supply the Electro application all by herself with her Elemental Burst that hits numerous times, and Sayu doesn’t mind having the EM, especially if she is C6 and is likely stacking it in bulk, making her a good candidate for a Hydro/Electro type team.
Is Rainslasher still available?
Yes! It is a 4-Star claymore that is readily available on all major wish banners, and even will occasionally go on rateup on the Epitome Invocation banner. Keep an eye out for it in order to maximize your odds of acquiring/refining it!
Final Thoughts
Rainslasher is a pretty niche weapon thanks to its Elemental MAstery substat combined with its specific passive that demands it be used in teams featuring Electro/Hydro to be relevant. It does perform well when these conditions are met however, so don’t misconstrue it as a dealbreaker if you are actually capable of meeting those conditions!
