Raven's Cry: Review

Ravens Cry is an Action-adventure role playing single player game developed by Reality Pump Studios and published by Top ware Interactive .Its compatible for the platform Microsoft Windows, OS X, Linux, Xbox 360,Xbox One, PlayStation 3,PlayStation 4.Its released date is 16th December ,2014 for MS Windows ,Mac, Linux and for PS3,PS 4,X360 in the Early 2015.Its suppose to feature some great designs, pirates as well great architecture.

Plot

The plot is around this guy raven, which is from Scotland. Raven is travelling along with his family to escape from the famine and is headed to explore the new world. But then near Jamaica his ship gets attacked by pirates and this young guy fights them all alone with revenge on his mind to kill all those villains who killed his family.

Thus he discovers the deep dark secrets in the rolling emerald waves and strange roads and other strange objects like blades, bottles, flintlock gun.

Three major cities are found in Raven's Cry from the unsavory pirate holdfast of Port Royal to the elegant avenues of luscious Havana, to a lost Aztec City deep in the jungles of the Spanish Main.

Game Play

Ravens Cry is a chapter based story where the young guy tries to track this pirate named Neville Scranton who is believed to have killed his entire family. On your path you'll hack, slash, and shoot your way through an array of environments such as typical Caribbean port towns and Aztec lands. Your missing hand has been replaced by a hook and a raven familiar is at your side to scout for enemies.

Also the game involves elements like morality system, side-quests, and magic items which are the features of the character. Also the game has a system of accumulating a concept known as “fear’, which you as a player can accumulate by scaring you enemies .

So keep this in mind while playing, use tactics to scare them in different ways, else face their hostility. Opponents bleed and suffer which affects the moral aspects of the game. Pirate charms will let you become invincible, summon ravens to rip enemies to shreds, boost attack speed and damage, and even cast some magic.

There are certain weapons like “Sword Pistol” which is a knife with a revolver attached or an “axe rifle”.

Final Verdict

The game certainly looks exciting with different features and interesting plot and gameplay.Also the fact that it is compatible with so many different platforms means that it would cater to players of different platforms.Thus it would be interesting to see how the players globally respond to it.
