While Raymond may be one of the newer additions to the Animal Crossing games, he has already become a fan favorite. Making his debut in New Horizons, this cat’s smug personality and unique look has made him an island essential for nearly everyone.
Name | Raymond |

Gender | Male |
Personality | Smug |
Birthday | October 1st (Libra) |
First Appearance | New Horizons |
Other Appearances | Pocket Camp |
Personality
Raymond has a Smug behavior type but don’t let that mislead you. It doesn’t mean that he’s smug in the sense that he feels superior over everyone but more in the sense that he’s very self-confident. When you meet Raymond for the first time, you’ll find that he’s extremely polite and well-mannered. While Smug Villagers occasionally suffer from a case of an inflated ego, they mean well. Because of this Raymond gets along well with Lazy, Normal, Peppy, and Snooty villagers quite well. However, he will have trouble with those who are Cranky.
Appearance
Raymond is a cat villager with a unique design that helps him stand out among other cat villagers. While sporting a grey fur coat, Raymond also wears an accompanying waistcoat and has blond hair and pink ears. Furthermore, he also wears glasses and has heterochromia, with one eye brown in colour and the other green.
How to get Raymond in New Horizons
Getting a villager you want in New Horizons is particularly tricky as there is only one surefire way to do so with the rest up to luck. There are two primary methods of getting Raymond in your village; the first is using Nook Miles to fly to an island and see if he is there. Keep in mind if you do this you’ll have to have an open plot available. The second method is to wait and see if he’ll appear at your campsite. Either way both methods are based on luck, so it’s completely up to chance.
Amiibo
As of the time of writing Raymond does not have an amiibo card. As with the other villagers who were introduced in New Horizons, the only way to get Raymond or any other villager is being lucky with the campsite or island visits. As a result, many players have taken advantage of the wild demand for Raymond and have offered players the villager if they pay, either in in-game currency or, more often than not, in real world money.
Trivia
