According to leaked details from a renowned scooper, Resident Evil 9 might reintroduce a classic gameplay mode seen in several installments from the past. Resident Evil 9 is rumored to have Leon Kennedy as the main protagonist with Jill Valentine in a supporting role. However, the two might be connected through an engaging mode, which was initially witnessed in Resident Evil 5, over a decade ago.

This article will mention all the key details players must know about the leaked gameplay mode for Capcom's Resident Evil 9.

Note: Players are advised to take early leaks and rumors with a grain of salt unless there's an official confirmation from developers.

Resident Evil 9 will reportedly have a co-op mode for Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine

A Reddit user named u/No1PiggyOnTheBlock recently shared a long post on the social media platform based on various leaked details by a popular German YouTuber and scooper Andi. The latter runs a channel called Screenfire Germany. If the leaked information is anything to go by, Resident Evil 9 may resurrect the co-op mode, which was originally seen in 2009's Resident Evil 5 by Capcom.

Based on Andi's knowledge about the next major installment in the survival-horror series, it will see Leon Kennedy and Jill Valentine working together. Moreover, the game is rumored to feature a co-op mode for these two characters.

Precisely speaking, the leak claims that Jill will support Leon in the same manner Sheva assisted Chris in Resident Evil 5. The latter was technically the first game in the franchise to have a dedicated co-op-based Campaign with two main characters. It looks like RE9 might take a leaf out of the decade-old title's gameplay design.

Since the launch of Resident Evil 5, there have been various other Resident Evil games as well with a co-op mode. Some of them are Resident Evil: Revelations 2, Resident Evil 6, and Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

Capcom is yet to officially announce the next installment in the series. Hence, everything should be taken with a grain of salt as of now.
