Resident Evil Re:Verse is a third-person multiplayer game that was originally set to be released as part of a bundle with Resident Evil Village in 2021. However, the original plan was scrapped with the game delayed twice in the years since, although it will now be released on October 28th, 2022 as a part of the Winters Expansion bundle.
It has been billed as Resident Evil Village’s multiplayer component. Village is a survival horror game that was developed and published by Capcom in 2021. Re:Verse was supposed to be a game that celebrated the series’ 25th anniversary when it was released.
What is Resident Evil Re:Verse?
While Resident Evil Village is a survival horror game, Re:Verse is a multiplayer game where players choose their favorite characters from Resident Evil and battle it out in a deathmatch-style game mode that gamers take part in, using various items and weapons that are scattered around the map.
Not only that, each human that is killed/taken down can transform into incredibly powerful Bioweapons that could change the course of the battle and its eventual outcome.

Resident Evil Re:Verse’s Release Date
Originally scheduled to release in 2021 as a part of the Resident Evil Village bundle, Resident Evil Re:Verse was delayed after issues within the game and will now be released on October 28th, 2022. The game will only be released for players who have purchased a physical copy of Resident Evil Village and thus, technically, buying that game is the only way to play Re:Verse.
Not only that, for those that purchase Resident Evil Village on the PS5, a version of Re:Verse will be made available on the PS4. The same applies to the Xbox Series X|S, with the Xbox Series One.
Resident Evil Re:Verse Gameplay
Re:Verse is a third-person shooter with over-the-shoulder multiplayer action with characters from the Resident Evil universe. It is a 5 minute deathmatch that is contested between 4 to 6 players with the help of weapons and various items found all over the map. Each character has their own weapon loadout and skill-set, but can also be transformed into powerful Bioweapons upon their death that can be used against other players.
Picking up virus capsules that can be found on the ground makes the transformation even more powerful. Your score increases with each kill you earn, whether you do it as a human or a bioweapon. The winner of each five-minute round is the player with the most points.
