Respawn Entertainment recently revealed their plans for the upcoming Apex Legends Season 22 battle pass. The developers have decided to overhaul the entire system and release two battle passes each season one for each split. While the game has been stale for quite a few seasons, the players still play the game every season due to the FOMO (Fear Of Missing Out) on the exclusive Legend and Reactive skins.
Although Respawn is trying to bring the players back into the game with these types of major changes, the community says otherwise. While many players are demented, the community is in chaos and bombarding the developers with negative responses.
The official post on X showcasing the upcoming changes recently got updated with “community notes.” The note suggests that the upcoming changes were decided after reviewing the community’s feedback. An Apex Legends player, @SimiX___ stated:
“Respawn is so cooked.”

Another user by the name @Seeker_Nameless commented that this is probably one of the funniest things that Respawn ever did.
X user @MaxwithdaPowah expressed that they hope for the community to stand as one and boycott but knowing the player base they will purchase the Season 22 battle pass immediately after its release.
“I hope to god this community actually will boycott. But knowing it they will probably get super hyped and insta buy the passes next season.”
Amid the chaos, the user @FtwBroccoli claims that they along with their acquaintances will not be buying the battle pass and aim to unlock all of the free rewards that the pass offers.
An Apex Legends fan @IIVxGETAII thinks Resapwn should fix the other problems the game is currently facing instead of developing cash-grab products. They said:
“I won’t spend more money next season. Fix matchmaking, change ranking, find better servers, and address cheaters. Only then will you get money from me. To all players: unite. Convince others to stop spending until EA realizes what we want.”
Another fan @Decadence_3 expressed their opinion that these changes made by EA are completely senseless. The previous battle pass system motivated players to progress more just by playing the game without any other thoughts. Additionally, the user thinks paying should never force people to play the game.
Lastly, the user @notayrachi stated after seeing the “community notes” that not a single person will ask for these kinds of changes in the game. They said:
“‘Community feedback’? I guarantee you not a single person has asked for this.”
How will the Apex Legends Season 22 Battle Pass changes affect the game?
The upcoming changes for the Apex Legends Season 22 Battle Pass are quite satisfactory. Since the battle pass is divided into two splits, players will have to play more to level up both battle passes each split. This means, the servers will be packed with players engaging with the game. Additionally, you can acquire more rewards from the battle passes every season, allowing you to widen your collection.
Having said that, the battle pass will cost $9.99, and cannot be purchased with Apex Coins. This is a big concern since many players cannot buy the battle pass and acquire AC (Apex Coins) from it and purchase the next one with the AC they got by completing the BP.
This change will negatively affect Apex Legends, resulting in its player numbers going down substantially.
