While playing Apex Legends, players can interact with various items on each map. Treasure Packs were one of these features which was first introduced in Season Five. Among all of the interactable aspects of every map, the Treasure Packs were one of the most popular ones. Every player regardless of their rank and level could earn various in-game items such as Apex Packs, Crafting Materials, Battle Pass stars, Weapon skins, and more by collecting this pack during each season.

Respawn decided to remove the Treasure Packs from the game with the debut of Apex Legends Season 22. This means, players cannot collect and acquire some extra in-game items daily just by playing the game.

Having said that, this article discusses if it was the right choice from Respawn to remove Treasure packs from this free-to-play battle royale title.

Should Respawn completely remove Treasure Packs from Apex Legends?

As stated previously, Respawn removed the Treasure Packs from Apex Legends at the beginning of Season 22. This means players won’t be able to acquire these small packs by opening loot bins daily after reset.

Apart from completing the battle pass, players had an incentive to log into the game daily in order to acquire the Treasure Packs and get various in-game items. During each season, players could acquire a total of 45 Treasure Packs over 45 days. Acquiring all 45 gave them a new weapon skin along with some Apex Packs and battle pass stars.

Taking everything into consideration, we believe Respawn should not remove the Treasure Packs from Apex Legends completely. Having the added objective of securing treasure packs alongside completing the battle pass is another source of motivation for the players to play the game, racking up their playtime.

Since there are no treasure packs in Season 22, those who play the game for fun might just complete the battle pass in a few days and stop playing for the rest of the Split. Therefore, the Treasure Pack mechanic is a good way to retain a high concurrent player count during the entirety of the season.
