Some of these alterations will have big implications for those who play on Android phones since the free-to-play game is getting removed from the Google Play Store. The tweaks are more limited in nature on iOS devices unless you live in the EU.

Rocket League Sideswipe Season 17 has introduced a ton of changes, including the game's launch in the Epic Games Store and removal from the Google Play Store.
Epic Games Store launch rewards
Rocket League Sideswipe has launched in the Epic Games Store. If you download the game from there instead of the Google Play Store or App Store, you will receive these rewards in the game:
- Diestro (Gold Trim)
- A new Car Body variant
Those who played the game before August 16, 2024, will get two more items:
- “Long-Time Fan” Title
- Loyalty Ball Avatar
New in-game content
The Season 17 Rocket Pass has been updated to a 50-tier level model, which used to be the case in older season passes.
Here's everything new in the Season 17 Rocket Pass:
- 3 Car Bodies, including the Twinzer and Cobalt-themed Chikara G1
- 3 Goal Explosions, including Solar Flare and Toon
- 6 Wheels
- 6 Toppers
- 6 Boosts
- 7 Decals
- 4 Stickers
- 3 Banners
- 2 Avatars
- 5000 SP
- 45 Tokens
Changes to daily mystery item
The Daily Mystery Item can now be purchased twice a day, but its cost has increased to 200 SP.
New rare items naming scheme
The naming scheme of the item rarity in the game has changed completely in Season 17. Here's the new system:
- Limited = Luxury
- Very Rare = Deluxe
- Rare = Special
- Uncommon = Sport
- Common = Base
Platform changes
For Season 17, Rocket League Sideswipe is partnering with the Epic Games Store, and the game will be available exclusively on the platform. That means the title will be removed from the Google Play Store.
iOS users, on the other hand, will be fine. Rocket League Sideswipe will continue to accessible in the Apple App Store for the foreseeable future unless you live in the EU. Those who live in this region must install the Epic Games Store via side loading.
Heatseeker is back for Season 17
The Heatseeker mode has made a return with Season 17. It used to be quite popular among players in the game's older seasons.
Season 17 of Rocket League Sideswipe runs until October 18, 2024.
