Royal Longsword is a weapon that was introduced along with the game’s release. The only way to obtain this weapon is through Paimon’s Bargains. Part of the Royal series, this weapon shares the category along with Royal Bow, Royal Greatsword, Royal Grimoire and Royal Spear. While having an ATK% substat, this weapon also has a passive that makes it much easier for rapid fire characters to crit with. The increase in CRIT Rate at maximum stacks is really high, in turn letting you invest completely on CRIT DMG.
Crafted with premium materials by the best, this weapon was originally not meant to be used in combat, but rather for the nobles to learn about elegance and wisdom. Due to the high quality of the materials used, this weapon still stands strong, without a loss in quality even after all these years. However, the members of the royalty forgot about its true purpose and the sword art soon became only a formality.

Story
A longsword used by a noble who ruled over Mondstadt. It was crafted with premium materials and master craftsmanship.
For that reason, even after being passed down for generations, it is still as sharp as ever.
Swordsmanship was once a mandatory skill for the nobles.
However, it was for the purpose of refining wisdom and elegance, not for use in combat.
Unfortunately, wisdom and elegance were eventually all but forgotten. Swordsmanship became a mere formality.
Twenty-six hundred years ago was the era of Mondstadt's most ancient inhabitants.
They swore a solemn oath, after the new Anemo Archon descended and reformed the world:
"For Mondstadt, as always. For the verdant plains, for the hills, and for the forests of Mondstadt. May they continue to flourish, as always."
"For Mondstadt, as always. For the everlasting freedom of Mondstadt from the blizzard and the tyrant, whose coldness and oppression are one and the same."
No matter what future woes might befall Mondstadt, whether human tyranny or monster infestation, and even if that tablet is destroyed on which the oath of protection is written,
The oath itself will forever be borne by the winds, gently caressing Mondstadt like a doting lover, firmly defending Mondstadt like a loving father.

FAQs
Is Royal Longsword a good weapon in Genshin Impact?
Royal Longsword is a great weapon in Genshin Impact due to the fast hitting nature of sword characters. This sword helps trigger CRIT hits and lets you invest completely on CRIT DMG. Due to the fast paced combat style of sword characters, the sword stacks can be filled quickly in order to deal damage.
There are not many other swords that can provide the same effects, increasing the value of this weapon compared to most others of this series.
Is Royal Longsword good for Traveler?
Royal Longsword is definitely a solid option for Anemo Traveler due to their Elemental Skill (Hold) being able to trigger the effect of this sword rapidly. It is also good on Physical Traveler as they hit rapidly. At maximum stacks it can also boost the damage of the final hit. However, this is not advisable on Geo or Electro Traveler as they have a hard time getting hits in during a short period of time, rendering this sword useless.
Is the Royal Longsword good for Xingqiu?
While the Royal Sword is incredible on Xingqiu due to his burst being able to trigger the passive of this weapon, it is much better to use a Sacrificial Sword on him. Sacrificial Swords are of much importance to Xingqiu due to his high cooldown on his elemental skill. The energy recharge also helps deal damage as the emblem of severed fate set converts it into damage.
Final Thoughts
Royal Longsword is one of the best free to play options for characters which have invested a lot in CRIT DMG but has low CRIT Rate. An ideal amount of CRIT Rate for any character is around 70%, which is a very hard number to obtain. With the Royal Longsword, you can raise CRIT Rate upto 40%, making it so that you need only around 30-40% CRIT Rate. You can in turn invest in CRIT DMG. The downside is that if the CRIT DMG is low even after using this weapon, it might be rendered useless as this weapon relies on having high CRIT DMG on the characters.
