Royal Spear is a weapon that was introduced in version 1.1 and the only way to obtain this weapon is through Paimon’s Bargains. Part of the Royal series, this weapon shares the category along with Royal Bow, Royal Greatsword, Royal Grimoire and Royal Longsword. While having an ATK% substat, this weapon also has a passive that makes it much easier for rapid fire characters to crit with. The increase in CRIT Rate at maximum stacks is really high, in turn letting you invest completely on CRIT DMG.
Crafted with premium materials by the best, this weapon was nothing but an ornamental piece in a noble’s house. Due to the high quality of the materials used, this weapon still stands strong, without a loss in quality even after all these years. Spears were regarded as a commoner’s weapon in aristocrat Mondstat because they thought the sword is stronger than a pitchfork or a sharpened wooden pole.

How to get Royal Spear in Genshin Impact?
The only way to obtain the Royal Spear is by purchasing it from Paimon’s Bargains. It usually alternates every month with Blackcliff Pole. This means that if the current month does not have Royal Spear featured in Paimon’s Bargains, it will be featured in the upcoming month.
Paimon’s Bargains can be accessed by following these steps:
Step 1: Open Paimon Menu. This is the menu on the top left corner of your screen.
Step 2: Click on the ‘Shop’ option which resembles a shopping bag on the left side of the screen.
Step 3: Click on Paimon’s Bargains.
From Paimon’s Bargains, open Starglitter Exchange. Here you will see either the Blackcliff Series weapons or the Royal Series weapons. If the Royal Series weapons are on display, you can purchase the Royal Spear for 24 Starglitter. Starglitter can be obtained by wishing on the Standard or Event wish banners.

Story
A lance once kept in the collection of a noble who ruled over Mondstadt. A product of premium materials and masterful artisanship.
For that reason, it remains sharp as it was on the day it was first forged, even many generations after the nobles' time ended.
But back in the era of the nobility, this weapon never saw the light of day, and bathed only in the pale moonlight.
The nobles believed that those of high blood should use swords in battle.
To them, the sound of blades clashing was the chorus the lofty souls.
The spear and the bow, on the other hand, were the weapons of plebian gladiators and commoners.
Commoners with pitchforks and sharpened wooden poles, after all, could yet be a match for sword-wielding scions of nobility.
This was, undoubtedly, a hard pill for the rulers of Old Mondstadt to swallow.
Legend has it that there was also a youth of noble stock,
Who sought out a smith to make this weapon, emblazoned with their house's crest,
And yet which, like this youth, could never earn the favor of his family...
No, not without the spilling of blood.
If that youth wanted change to come, they needed power.
Even if it meant using a weapon seen as ignoble.
Even if it meant that their spear-wielding shadow could never see any light but that of the deep night's moon.
Trivia
- Royal Spear is the only Mondstat weapon to have a Liyue ascension material.
- Rosaria is seen wielding a Royal Spear in her character demo "Rosaria: No Overtime, Ever".
- Royal Spear is the only weapon in the Royal Series to not be released in version 1.0.
FAQs
Who is good with the Royal Spear Genshin?
A lot of characters are good with the royal spear in Genshing Impact. Spear users tend to be fast hitters, which means that the stacks will be filled and refreshed quickly. Characters that can utilise the passive of this weapon efficiently are primarily Hu Tao and Xiao, due to their elemental infused on-field rapid damage. Although characters like Physical Rosaria can utilise it as well, it is better to give her something like Dragonspine Spear.
Is Royal Spear good for Xiao?
While not his best in slot, Royal Spear can be good on Xiao, but only if you are lacking in CRIT Rate. In every other case, it is better to go for a Blackcliff Pole as it not only provides CRIT DMG, but also ATK after enemies are killed. This will be a piece of cake for a plunge attacker like Xiao, who can quickly reach maximum stacks of this weapon.
Is the Royal Spear good for Zhongli?
Royal Spear is definitely a usable option for Zhongli thanks to his pillars. However, this will definitely reduce the average damage outcome of Zhongli as he relies on his burst CRITing. While using Royal Spear, Zhongli’s pillars build up CRIT. However, if even one of the hits of the pillar CRITs, the stack is reset. This will minimise burst damage.
Final Thoughts
Royal Spear is a really good weapon for Polearm characters. However, due to the wide range of unique Polearms available, the effects of this weapon are rendered less useful. There are better alternatives for every character, making this not as effective as the rest of the weapon. While some of these weapons are gacha reliant, there are many that can be obtained for free as well, making it pointless to purchase this weapon.
